So here's an interesting question: When was the Earth created? There are a lot of answers to that question. And they all differ wildly in the conclusions they reach.
Of course, this discussion is no different than building a house. Get the foundation wrong, and the whole building collapses. We want to get the basics right before we start construction.
This page started as one page on the subject. It grew into a mini-course to help you understand the subject better.
Each lesson includes a quiz at the end of it to help you digest the material better. There's A LOT here to remember, so read carefully.
So let's get to building!

Asking "When was the Earth created?" can be a bit of a dicey question because there are so many people with so many different ideas. We'll be up front with where we're starting:
The Bible gives us very solid clues that tell us approximately when the Earth was created. We get a solid start in Genesis 1 and 2. If we take God at His word, all creation was completed in six days.
This leads us to the conclusion that the Earth is only a few-thousand years old. Some, like James Ussher, even suggest it's only about 6,000 years old!
But is this true? Is it reasonable to think that the Earth is this young?
Surprisingly, there are many good people who don't agree. They believe these days are only figurative. They aren't days at all. They are actually ages of thousands, millions or billions of years.
What is true? The final answer may surprise you.
What is the mission of this three-lesson mini-course? To answer our overarching question: "When Was the Earth Created?"
If you scroll down, you can find the links that will take you to each lesson. Let this be your hub to access them. You'll want bookmark this page before you go.
For your convenience, we've also supplied links to the next lesson in the series so that you can seamlessly slide into the next lesson.
One caveat: There's A LOT of material in this course. Sure, it's only three lessons. But each lesson is packed with lots of facts. So you'll want to take your time.
So scroll down, and let the learning begin!
In this lesson, we tackle another topic: Did God really create everything like the Bible says? Of course, there are other questions we'll seek answers to:
Is there more to the story of a literal understanding of Genesis?
Did we misunderstand Genesis when it says God created everything in six days?
Did others in the Bible feel like the creation account in the Bible wasn't to be take literally?
We'll strive to answer all these questions.
Has anyone attempted to accurately determine the age of the Earth? A man named James Ussher did. But was he accurate? Let's find out.
The third lesson ratchets down on the facts, both biblical and logical, for a young creation. What are the facts for a young earth? Let's find out.
We designed this mini-course to answer the question "When was the Earth created?" Hopefully, you'll come away with something so much more than just a clear answer to this question.
Our hope is that you'll see how important the Bible is as a whole. We want you to see that every thread of it carries great weight -- especially the ending.
What's the ending? I'm glad you asked!
God created all of what we see to show His glory. Unfortunately, the human race rejected God's statement (Genesis 3:1–6; c.f. Romans 1:18–23). We're now separated from the God who saved us and showed us His glory.
We need Someone to bridge that gap. We can't jump over that gap. It would be like jumping over the Grand Canyon by our own power. It just can't be done!
Thank God He did that He saved us from our slavery to sin through His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 7:25). Only through Jesus can we find salvation and be reconciled to God (Acts 4:12; Philippians 2:10; Colossians 1:20).
Now, we can have salvation through Jesus Christ. Without Him we would be lost.
You see, Jesus is the end of the process. If evolution is true, and the age of the Earth is very old, then Jesus has no place. Death is a result of a process that God began.
If this is true, our sin doesn't really produce death. But if we're at fault, we need Jesus.
Let me be blunt. We need Jesus. You need Jesus.
Have you put your trust in Him? I hope you have. Jesus is the end of the process for anyone who wants to come to God (John 14:6).
We hope this course has been a blessing. God bless.
