Before We Learn How to Study the Bible

One caveat before we begin. If you don't have a church family, find one. You'll learn a whole lot more about Bible study when you're among seasoned believers and church leaders who know how to do it.

The church is an invaluable source of deep, truthful teaching. Don't take it for granted. It's a command (Hebrews 10:25). It benefits others (Hebrews 10:24). It benefits you (Psalm 122:1).

It isn't a waste of time. It isn't supporting "organized religion." It's being exactly where you should be.

But here's a caveat for this caveat. Make sure it is a Bible-believing, gospel-preaching. Christ exalting, Spirit-led, God glorifying church. (Woof! That was a mouthful.) Make sure your church is truly your church family.

So spend some time with your church family this weekend. Don't sleep in. Don't go to the lake. Don't catch a movie. Be with your people on Sunday to do some really deep Bible study!
