So you're probably wondering who we are at Biblephoria.com. I mean, there are so many Bible teachers out there pedaling a false message that Bible study can be scary sometimes. You don't want to follow a false teacher or a false gospel! (See Galatians 1:6–10 for more.)
So are you wondering who we are?
Look no further. We just want to discover the truth just like you do. So scroll on down, and discover who we are!
Biblephoria.com exists for one overarching purpose. To glorify God. He has supplied everything for us to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17). How could we not want to give him glory?
With that said, Biblephoria.com's secondary purpose is to simplify Bible study. It's designed to give you, the Bible student, the best chance of getting the most out of God's Word.
We stand on this important fact: God's Word is true because it comes from God, and He is true (John 3:33). Everything else, even if it is factual and valuable, remains enslaved to God's truth.
What drives us to do what we do? What truths do we stand on?
We love God with all our heart, soul mind and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5; Mark 12:30; c.f. Proverbs 3:5–6). He is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is our Father (Matthew 5:44–45).
We firmly believe Jesus is God because God's Word says it's so (John 1:1), and one of those proofs is that Christ created everything (John 1:2).
If Jesus hadn't have come to earth, we would be lost (1 Timothy 1:15). That's because we're all sinners in need of a Savior (Isaiah 53:6; cf. Romans 3:23). Faith in Jesus takes care of it all (Ephesians 2:8-9).
And then there's the Holy Spirit. He's important too because He's just like the Father and Jesus (John 14:16–17). He gives us comfort and guides us.
Why do I mention all this? These truths are why we do what we do. We believe God has spoken and has done so through the Bible. This gives everyone very good reason to read the Bible.
I mean, who wouldn't want to read God's thoughts? To listen to the words He has breathed out (2 Timothy 3:16–17)? Who wouldn't want to hear from God.
That's the heart of Bible study. That's the desire of Biblephoria.com.
Bill is the heart and soul of Biblephoria.com. But don't think he has a big head or anything. He's the only one working on content right now. So it's pretty easy to be the heart and soul of a ministry when you're the only one! (And for the record, his head is actually a bit small.)
No big heads at Biblephoria.com. We aren't allowed to have those. We do our best to give all the glory to God!
But I digress.
Bill loves the Word of God. It is the bread for his butter, the right for his left, the up for his down. The truth of God's revealed wisdom blows Bill away every time he reads it. His desire to know God, his hope in Christ and his dependence on the Holy Spirit are what keep him going.
Bill is pastor of Grizzly Flats Community Church, a small hamlet nestled in the foothills of northern California. The church was devastated by the Caldor Fire and lost all its buildings. The church and the area are still reeling from its destructive flames. Please pray for Grizzly Flats.
With that said, Bill has pastored at GFCC for almost a decade-and-a-half. During that time, he's learned a few things about studying the Bible and preparing messages and lessons to teach it.
God has directed Bill's steps in so many ways to bring him to this point. He brings over a quarter of a century of ministry experience to the table. Of course, good luck finding a place at the table to put anything. Bill's workspace is normally pretty messy.
But I digress again.
God's gift of ministry has provided Bill with a unique perspective on Bible study. He hopes that he can use this gift to teach and encourage you and glorify God. That's what Biblephoria.com seeks to do -- Give all the glory to God.
Bill is married to the most amazing woman in the world and has two of the most low-maintenance kids in the universe. They even clean up pretty well! A definite plus where kids are concerned! (Don't worry. They're adopted.)
Of course, he loves them as only a father can. Bill adores all his family. God has blessed him so much.
All that said, God has given Bill a pretty good life. Of course, God gets all the glory. He always does.
Soli Deo Gloria!
Thank you for visiting us here at Biblephoria.com. We hope you'll enjoy exploring our whole site. After all, we created all this for you.
We're adding content everyday, so hopefully, we'll be able to add some staff soon. These things take time. Hopefully, more staff bios coming real soon because Bill is getting really tired. Look for them! (And maybe even a vacation for Bill!)
