What We Believe

We figured before you continue, you should probably know what we believe. It's so important to know how people view the basic points of Scripture.

We take the basic principles of the Bible very seriously. Those fundamental beliefs are what distinguish a real ministry from a cult.

It's sometimes called "historic Christianity," but it's really just biblical Christianity. What we claim here is drawn from the deep well of biblical doctrine. It isn't made up. It isn't fabricated in any way. It's the unvarnished truth as we understand it.

Below, we've outlined what we believe. It's pretty straight forward. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us (coming soon!).

We've also provided this handy dandy widget to help digest it all.

What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the verbally inspired Word of God, fully trustworthy and the final authority for faith and life.
Scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12; Matthew 24:35

God the Father

We believe in one God, the Almighty Father, Creator of heaven and earth, who lovingly sustains all things.
Scripture: Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; Acts 17:24–25

Jesus Christ the Son

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, eternally begotten of the Father, true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and rose again on the third day. He ascended into heaven and will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead.
Scripture: John 1:1–3, 14; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. He dwells within believers, sanctifies the Church, and empowers us to live faithfully.
Scripture: John 14:16–17; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; Galatians 5:22–23

The Trinity

We confess the mystery of the Holy Trinity: one God in three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in glory, majesty, and eternity.
Scripture: Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 10:30

The Church

We believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic Church, united in Christ across all nations and generations. We are called to proclaim the gospel, administer the sacraments, and live as His people.
Scripture: Ephesians 4:4–6; 1 Peter 2:9; Matthew 28:19–20

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven, reconciled to God, and given eternal life.
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 5:8–9; John 3:16; Titus 3:5–7

Eternal Hope

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and the life everlasting in God’s presence, where He will make all things new.
Scripture: Revelation 21:1–4; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; John 11:25–26

Why This Is Important

Black Leather Bible

In our day, some have subjugated doctrine and theology to a very unimportant level. Like one very godly (but confused lady) told me, "We don't like theology around here!"

But it's doctrine and theology that make us who we are. Without them, we wouldn't know what the truth is. God gave us His Word to inform our hearts. Jesus came to show us that that information real. The Holy Spirit indwells us so that we can experience the reality of that information.

But it all has to start with information. That's how God communicated with us in the first place. (See Genesis 2:16–17 for more on this).

What's the point? We want you to know what we believe because it's important that you understand that we understand. We also want to teach you what the truth of God's Word is regarding our faith.

But the most important thing isn't academic. It's very practical. We want you to know how to glorify God more in your life.

Because that's what life is really about. We are to glorify God in every thing we do, everything we say, every step we take.

What we believe goes a long way to establishing proper conduct. If we believe the wrong thing, we do the wrong thing. If we do the wrong thing, we no longer glorify God.

To truly glorify God we must know the right information. We must consider the right information. We must live the right information.

Only right doctrine and right theology will lead to right living and glorifying God to the ultimate extreme.

All this to say, this is what we believe. And we're sticking to it. We hope you will as well as you pursue studying God's Word, obeying His voice and glorifying Him to the fullest degree.

In this and this alone will you find true fulfillment and happiness. In this alone you will truly find God and His sovereign, gracious will.

God bless!
